Olivia Wilde is an actress, model, producer, director, activist, and philanthropist. she did her schooling in a prestigious school and went on to study acting in Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland.
Olivia Wilde gave her debut in the movie, ‘The Girl next door’. She is also known for her role in medical drama series, “House.”
Olivia Wilde is an active board member of “Artists for Peace and Justice,” where she brings up various issues and promotes education, dignity and healthcare through arts and other programs. She has also done a number of documentaries in which she tried to point various issues and problems faced by Haiti community.
She is a huge hit and a big success in Hollywood, but she is not ‘all about the glamour’. She is one woman with a distinct personality and mind. She took to her surname ‘Wilde’ in admiration for Irish poet and writer Oscar Wilde and his work in literature.
Talking about philanthropy, she said,”It’s something we were raised with — a sense of responsibility, the idea of leaving the world better than how we found it. It was instilled in us quite young, my siblings and I.”
She has also taken the road to a vegan lifestyle. She says it promotes so many causes related to environment and humanity.
” I think that my generation is defined by a new type of philanthropy. Philanthropy is no longer a word just for rich, older people who have fat checkbooks. It is an active philosophy, the idea of really participating, and going around the world and building wells, or saving trees or whatever your thing is. It’s active,” She says when asked about her views on philanthropy.
She also wrote an article called “The Dos and Don’ts of Turning 30,” where she gave encouragement to women who are turning 30.
