Wedding bells for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma!
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have tied the knot and got hitched in a destination wedding at Milan, Italy. The cricketer and the actress first met during the shoot of a TVC, cupid struck and the rest, as they say, is history.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding in Italy was straight out of a fairytale. If the dreamy images of Virushka from their wedding melted many hearts, others couldn’t take their eyes off Anushka’s huge wedding ring.
If reports are to be believed, Virat took three months to zero in on the perfect wedding ring for the love of his life.
The happy couple shared their wedding photographs on social media with fans. In one image, they are seen laughing happily during the ‘phera‘ ceremony, while in another, a smiling Anushka is seen holding the garland to place it on Virat, who is held aloft by friends.
After days, years of dreaming up what kind of gorgeous lehenga Anushka Sharma would marry in, we finally got to see (and fawn over) the actor’s princess-like bridal ensemble on Monday.
Anushka’s stunning bridal look was legit breathtaking and lived up to all the hype. Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was the man behind it and he totally killed it!
Anushka’s pale pink royal-feeling lehenga with a voluminous A-line skirt was a fairytale with beautiful Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colors embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls, and beads.
The beaming bride completed her standout look with bridal jewelry from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection that was handcrafted with syndicate uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and baroque Japanese cultured pearls. Truly stunning we can’t stop talking about it!
Those lush Tuscan hydrangeas; there is something so ethereal about brides wearing fresh flowers in their hair.
It’s not every day that you see cricketer Virat Kohli donning a sherwani. When he did, however, he made for one dashing groom!
While Virat matched steps with Anushka, choosing a pale-pink sherwani for his big day, what made Virat’s look really stand out was his royal, silk turban (safa) and the jewel embellishment atop it, especially the delicate feather.
Virat’s raw-silk sherwani by Sabyasachi Mukherjee was hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern and sported royal-looking buttons.
A statement said that the couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21, which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26. After the wedding, the couple will be shifting to their new home at Worli in Mumbai.
All said and done, Anushka Sharma is now officially Mrs, Virat Kohli. Congratulations to the couple!
