Usha Sahoo, Founder & Director, Yeh China Education

If there is someone who lives with a fierce passion for Mandarin Chinese, it is Usha Sahoo. From a humble start as a Mandarin Chinese teacher at various schools, she has proceeded to create Yeh China Education, a private limited company with over 5000 students and 50 tie-ups in 5 major cities of India.

With a graduation degree in Child Psychology from Utkal University , Odisha, Usha has always been very excited about teaching. Her motivation to become a Mandarin Chinese teacher came during her struggle to learn Mandarin Chinese. Lack of proper classes, examination guidelines and a scarcity of teachers prompted her to focus on tackling these problems. Out of this endeavour was born Yeh China Education in 2010. Yeh China Education was started with one purpose, to provide the best quality Mandarin Chinese education to people from all walks of life.

Usha’s professional achievements with Yeh China Education showcase her commitment to advancing the state of Mandarin Chinese education in India. Yeh China is the first organization to conduct the HSK and YCT examinations in Mumbai. She was also chosen as the cultural ambassador and Indian coordinator for the Indo-China Chinese Bridge Competition for School kids at Beijing, China. Usha is an author to many Chinese Books for kids and also started a Chinese Spelling Bee competition for school children called “Hanyu Master”.

All this has only been possible with the excellent support that the teachers and employees of Yeh China has provided and the constant attachment that the students of Yeh China have had with the institute. Usha’s plan for Yeh China is to expand to 20 cities of India by 2020 and target major educational institutions across India to include Mandarin Chinese as a part of their curriculum. This vision stems from the fact that we Indians have much to gain from the economic strength of Asia and Yeh China will be the one delivering these opportunities to the people be it a businessman, a college student or even a hobby learner.
