Ann Taylor is an obvious staple for workwear clothing and women’s suits — but here at Corporette when we do our roundups of readers’ most-bought items from last month, we see the SAME items repeated again and again. Curious what Ann Taylor items are the biggest hits with Corporette readers? Here’s what to buy at Ann Taylor.

Wondering about other workwear stores? We’ve rounded up best-selling reader favorites with tips on how to build a work wardrobe at stores like J.Crew, TalbotsBoden, and Lands’ End. Some of the Latest, Trendy Workwear Favorites at Ann Taylor

Before we get to the classics, these are some of the latest reader favorites — use the arrows to see all of the items!

The Best Work Shirts at Ann Taylor

4 models wear white blouses; 1) collarless popover 2) sweater tee 3) white collared blouse tucked in and 4) blouse with large patch pockets

Mixed Media Pleat Front Top (one of our favorite popover blouses for work) / Sweater Tee / Essential Shirt / Camp Shirt

We’ve pictured all of the best-selling shirts in white, but note that they almost always are available in multiple colors, prints, and sometimes even with sleeveless or short-sleeved options. I would say that the collared button-front is the most conservative, followed by the popover, followed by the sweater tee — the camp shirt feels more casual to me because of the patch pockets.

Reader Favorite Pants at Ann Taylor

3 models wear pants with work outfits: 1) ankle length 2) trousers 3) straight leg

Above: The Ankle Pant (many fits and fabrics; Bi-Stretch is the big favorite) / The Trouser Pant (lots of fabrics) / The Straight Pant (lots of fabrics, seasonless stretch is the big favorite)

Most pants have regular and curvy fits in sizes 00-18, as well as petites and, occasionally, tall sizes. Note that a lot of these pants may match blazers — I would not try to match two different blacks to “make” a suit, but I think you can wear them all as separates or with other blazer separates in different colors or very different textures (e.g., tweed, velvet). If you did originally purchase the pants as part of a suit, though, be wary of laundering the pants separately far more often than your blazer — you want the wear and tear to be roughly the same.

The Best Work Skirts and Office Dresses at Ann Taylor

1) square-neck office dress 2) pencil work skirt 3) flared midi office dress

The Square Neck Sheath Dress / Seamed Pencil Skirt / The Midi Flare Dress

Their skirts and dresses also come in regular and petite sizes! Note that these mostly have matching blazers as well.

The Best Ann Taylor Blazers for Work Outfits

women's blazers for the office: 1) collarless, 2) two button 3) one button

The Cutaway Blazer / The Two-Button Blazer / The One-Button Blazer

In addition to basics like black and navy, the reader favorite blazers often come in a variety of fun colors or prints — many come in petite or tall sizes, as well. The old advice has always been that the bustier you are, the more multiple buttons are helpful for fit — but your mileage may vary!
